JetBlue Airways CEO Joanna Geraghty stated that the partnership with United Airlines will not result in a merger between the two airlines. The partnership enables customers to book flights through both airlines’ websites and to use their points interchangeably between frequent flyer programs.
The Department of Justice has received extensive attention from Geraghty during the previous five years as she chose to follow safe practices according to her statement. The partnership between the airlines focuses on improving customer satisfaction without violating antitrust regulations.
The agreement from last week allows United Airlines to operate seven daily round-trip flights from JFK International Airport through JetBlue’s slot access. The airlines work together to deliver increased value through their loyalty programs as part of this partnership.
